FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The Online Bingo Chairperson Training Program
What is the Online Bingo Chairperson Training Program? The Online Bingo
Chairperson Training Program is comprised of a series of training modules that will initially
consist of six modules and comprehension questions for each module. Individuals are required to
complete each of the required modules and comprehension questions. The training software
automatically allows the user to advance to another module and will allow the training completion
certificate to be printed (at the user’s computer) once the training is completed.
How much time will I have to spend on the Online Bingo Chairperson Training
Program? The training should take the average user between four and six hours to complete.
The training program has a built in timing mechanism which will not allow the user to advance to
another module before spending 45 minute to one hour on their current module. Note:
This does not mean eight consecutive hours. The individual user may sign-on and log-off the
training program as often as they wish. Upon completion of all modules, the user will be allowed to
print their own Certificate of Completion training certificate. Course completion information is
automatically sent to the Charitable Bingo licensing records and computer database.
Can a group take the training together? No, each user must create and use their
own user ID and log-on password. The training database will only issue a certificate in the name of
the single user.
I don’t know how to use a computer. I don’t have an e-mail address. If you
will be serving your organization as the Bingo Chairperson, it is highly recommended that you have
basic computer skills and an e-mail address, or you have someone in your organization that you can
rely on that does! The Charitable Bingo Division often communicates with licensees via e-mail
because it is fast and efficient. If you don’t have any access to a computer or any computer
skills, look at the on-site or physical-site Bingo Chairperson training course dates and
I can’t sit in front of a computer for 5 to 8 hours! The average user should be
able to complete the entire Online Bingo Chairperson Training Program in no more than 6 hours. The
average module should take no more than 45 minutes to complete. The program is completely
self-paced; the user can login and logout as they wish. The system will monitor the amount of time
spent in each module. It is envisioned that individuals might complete one or two modules a day and
spread the training over a week or more.
I have been in bingo for 10 years; am I going to learn anything new? Absolutely!
There are tremendous changes on-going in bingo, such as new quarterly reports, new bingo bank
account limits and new charitable distribution rules, as you will see. If you have previously
attended an on-site Bingo Chairperson Training Program, you will find that the new modules are more
comprehensive and detailed.
Is there a limit on the number individuals per organization that will be allowed to take
the online training? No! We encourage multiple individuals per organization to take and
complete the online training course. The more trained individuals within an organization means the
Bingo Chairperson has some trained help and that the organization is less likely to have situations
where they are found to be non-compliant with the Bingo Enabling Act (Act) and Charitable Bingo
Administrative Rules (Rules).
Do I need copies of the Bingo Enabling Act and Charitable Bingo Administrative Rules while
taking the training?
No, there is no requirement to have the Act or Rules available while
during the training. If you would like to refer to the
they are available on our Web site.
on-site Bingo Chairperson Training Programs continue to be offered? Yes, but fewer
will be offered. It is anticipated that only two physical-site courses will be offered per bingo
audit region per year. There are five bingo audit regions, so there could be only a dozen or less
physical-site courses offered.
Is there a difference between the course content for an on-site training program and the
online version? No, the course content of the two programs will be identical.
If this training is required for Bingo Chairpersons, how do we train our workers and
operators? Very Good Question! Thanks for asking!
In the future, we will place other “Voluntary Reference Modules”---that are
longer and more detailed, as training tools.
